PART-TIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Furnas-Harlan Partnership Board is seeking a dynamic individual to promote and manage economic development and community development programs for communities within Furnas and Harlan Counties. This individual will be responsible for attracting new businesses,encouraging current business retention/expansion, promoting tourism and educational programs,and maintaining collaborative working relationships with, among, and between various community organizations, and providing leadership to various boards.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, successful grant writing experience or economic development experience preferred, but not required. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who are outgoing and have excellent communication skills, possess strong computer skills, are driven and show the capacity to learn, and demonstrate a dedication to the counties of Furnas and Harlan.

Economic Development President

The Custer Economic Development Company Board (“Board”), a privately funded economic development organization, is seeking an Economic Development President who will be responsible to coordinate all activities, programs and operations of the Custer Economic Development Corporation (“CEDC”) in an efficient and effective manner. The President will be responsible to carry out a variety of activities focused on the retention and expansion of existing businesses, attracting new businesses and creating jobs while preserving the quality of life in Custer County, Nebraska.

Custer County and the community of Broken Bow, located at the heart of Central Nebraska, boasts friendly, hard-working people, progressive businesses and a tradition of community spirit. It has a distinct Main Street America aura, progressive and picture perfect.

The ideal candidate will be a leader with management skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships at all levels, posses excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The candidate should excel in public presentations skills, carry out effective and timely follow-up on required efforts with business contacts and opportunities and have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs. Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational and time management skills. Grant writing skills would be beneficial.

Completion of a bachelor’s degree, advanced education, training and completion of professional economic development trainings preferred, although a combination of education and experience will be considered; will be required to travel and work a varying schedule, including nights and weekends.

This is a full-time salaried position. Compensation based on experience and skills. Benefit package is provided. Candidate required to establish residency in Custer County within three months of employment and have a valid driver’s license.

The Greater Fremont Development Council is seeking an energetic leader to guide and manage economic development in Fremont and Dodge County, Nebraska.

Bachelors in relevant field, MBA and/or CEcD preferred, at least six years management and economic development xperience, and comprehensive knowledge of marketing, business development, and sales. Other notable skills desired include:
Comprehensive, broad-based knowledge of strategic planning.
Comfort balancing public sector activities with a corporate approach.
Thorough understanding thorough knowledge of Nebraska economic development programs, grants, contacts and resources.
Solid skills in understanding finance and financing issues.
Exceptional economic development skills and a perspective of growth and development for the public good.
Concise communications skills.
